At the reception, Mr. Le Thanh Liem said the relation between Vietnam and Australia, including HCMC and Australian Northern Territory has gained good results. Australia is among 10 leading investment partners of HCMC in fields of health, education, agriculture, etc. In agriculture, HCMC imports dairy cows from Australia, this has been showing good results. Mr. Liem added HCMC has assigned Saigon Agriculture Incorporation the job of negotiating with Australia to develop dairy cow and beef cattle herds; he expressed his hope that Mr. Gary Higgins will support this policy.

The MOU signed between Australian Northern Territory and HCMC early 2014 marked a new development between both localities.

Mr. Liem said HCMC hopes to strengthen co-operation with Australian Northern Territory in fields of service, trade, infrastructure etc. He expressed his hope that this visit will further promote co-operation relation between Australia and Vietnam in general and between HCMC and Australian Northern Territory in particular.

Mr. Gary Higgins revealed that the purpose of this visit aims to further strengthen co-operation relation between Australian Northern Territory and Vietnam as well as with HCMC. He said the co-operation relation between Australia and Vietnam has been very positive, 50% of Vietnamese living in Australian Northern Territory own large-scale farms, this is a good opportunity for both sides’ co-operation.

Mr. Gary Higgins highly valued the importance of HCMC in the establishment of co-operation with Australian Northern Territory; he believed that the relation between HCMC and Australian Northern Territory will be more developed in the coming time. He expressed his hope that HCMC’s authority will create more favorable conditions for Australian enterprises to seek investment opportunities in HCMC, affirmed that Australian Northern Territory is always encouraging and creating favorable conditions for HCMC’s enterprises to invest in Australia.
