HCMC and Lyon to strengthen cooperation

On the occasion that Vietnam was the Guest of Honor Country of Pollutec 2016, taken place from November 29 to December 2 2016 in Lyon (France), Minister of Natural Resource and Environment Tran Hong Ha, Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Van Khoa together with representatives of Ministries, Departments and localities made a working visit to Lyon.


A source from HCMC Department of External Relations, in the framework of Pollutec 2016, Minister Tran Hong Ha Vice Chairman Le Van Khoa joined the ribbon-cutting ceremony of Vietnam booth co-organized by Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment and HCMC People’s Committee. The delegation met with Mr. Chirstophe Sirugue, French Minister of State for Economy-Finance and Mr. Bruno Lechevin, President of French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME).

In addition, a deal on technical support for a lighting project at HCMC Fine Arts was signed by Mr. Le Van Khoa and Mrs. Karine Sauze – Vice Mayor of Lyon City in charge of international relations and Mr. Jean Yves Sécheresse, Vice Mayor of Lyon City in charge of public lighting under the witness of Minister Tran Hong Ha and Vietnamese Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to France Nguyen Ngoc Son. This is the 5th lighting project following successful implementation of 4 others between HCMC and Lyon including HCMC Museum, headquarter of HCMC People’s Committee, Saigon Opera House and HCMC Post Office
 At the signing ceremony, leaders of HCMC and Lyon highly appreciated cooperation and friendship relations between Vietnam and France in general and of both localities in particular in the past time, especially in field of lighting. Both sides expressed their belief that such effective co-operation activities will be further developed in the future.
