On October 14, Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Tran VInh Tuyen received a delegation from The International Friendship Exchange Council (FEC) led by Mr. Nakagaki Yoshihiko, Vice President of FEC and President of Vietnam-Japan Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee.
Mr. Tran Vinh Tuyen welcomed the visit of the delegation to HCMC, saying the visit has made a positive contribution to the well-developed relation between Vietnam and Japan.
Mr. Tuyen added HCMC is in need of calling for investment in fields of transport infrastructure, public passenger transport (urban railway, bus rapid transit) and 4 key industries (mechanical manufacturing, electronics-information technology, chemical-rubber-plastic, food processing) and hi-tech agriculture.
Mr. Tuyen affirmed that the city always welcome and creates favorable conditions for Japanese investors to study and seek investment partners in the city.
For his part, Mr. Nakagaki Yoshihiko highly values economic growth speed of HCMC and affirmed that HCMC still has much potential for development. He said FEC hopes to support HCMC to further boost its economic growth. He added the delegation pays a special attention to investment fields of environment, flooding, clean water supply, etc. In term of climate change, he said Japan has over 40 years of experience in this field and willing to support HCMC.
Mr. Nakagaki Yoshihiko expressed his hope that HCMC’s authority creates favorable conditions for Japanese investors to study the market and to promote deep cooperation activities with HCMC.
