HCMC and Hungary strengthen multi-faceted cooperation

On September 30, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong received Mr. Bus Szilveszter – Deputy Minister of State, Ministry of economic and foreign affairs of Hungary.




At the reception, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong expressed his delight at well-developed relation between Vietnam and Hungary. He also expressed his hope that both sides’ relation will further deepen after ratification of Vietnam-Eu Free Trade Agreement.


In a brief of socio-economic situation of HCMC, Mr. Phong said, as a driving force of economic growth of the whole country and with achieved results, the city is facing some challenges including infrastructure unmatched with increasing population. To solve this, the city is carrying out many solutions including constructing HCMC a smart city in fields of health, transport and education.


Mr. Phong expressed his hope that Hungary will further strengthen cooperation with HCMC in fields of Hungary’s strength including transport, environment, food processing, trade and investment.


In order to further expand cooperation relation between HCMC and localities of Hungary, Mr. Phong expressed his hope that Hungary opens a national trade center in HCMC. With this center, two way trade between both sides will increase and many products of Hungary will be launched in HCMC.


Mr. Phong said HCMC’s authorities always create favorable conditions for foreign investors including those from Hungary.


For his part, Mr. Bus SzilVeszter highly valued development potential of HCMC, expressed his belief that the city will soon achieve its goals. According to Bus SzilVeszter, HCMC is one of the best destinations of foreign investors including those of Hungary. He added that with available conditions, there are lots of cooperation opportunities between Hungary and HCMC.
