HCMC and Czech Republic to strengthen cooperation

On June 8, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong received Mr. Robert Pelikan, Minister of Justice of Czech Republic on his working visit to the city.

At the reception, Mr. Phong highly appreciated traditional cooperation relation btween Vietnam and Czech Republic, he thanked the Government of Czech Republic for recognizing Vietnamese people community inn Czech Republic as ethnic minority community. There are now about 60, 000 Vietnamese people living, studying and working in Czech Republic.
 
Mr. Phong expressed his support to the idea of opening direct flight from HCMC to Praha Capital to further promote tourism cooperation and to create mutual exchange activities between both sides’ businesses. He expressed his hope that the visit will help encourage more businesses of Czech Republic to study investment opportunities in HCMC, especially in fields of Czech Republic’s strength like infrastructure, energy, electric equipment, etc. Mr. Phong added that the city always creates favorable conditions for foreign investors, including those of Czech Republic, to do business in the city. 

For his part, Mr. Robert Pelikan said his visit to Vietnam aims to further strengthen and tighten traditional and multi-faceted cooperation relations between Vietnam and Czech Republic.  Mr. Robert Pelikan expressed his delight at good cooperation relationship between both countries. He expressed his hope that HCMC will support to open direct flight from HCMC to Praha Capital to serve tourism development between both sides.
