On December 15, at Binh Phuoc province, investment promotion and preliminary conference of 2 years (2014-2016) of implementation of socio-economic cooperation between HCMC and Binh Phuoc province.

The list of attendees includes former President Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of HCMC Party Committee Dinh La Thang, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong, Secretary of Binh Phuoc Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Loi, Chairman of Binh Phuoc Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tram together with 150 businesses from both localities.

According to a report of Binh Phuoc Provincial People’s Committee, the province has attracted 25 investment projects from HCMC with total investment capital of VND 2, 650 billion. So far, the province has attracted a total of 79 projects with registered capital of 12,300 billion VND after 2 years of socio-economic cooperation. Main investment fields include industrial infrastructure, fertilizer, mechanical engineering, metallurgy, cultivation, animal husbandry, agricultural product processing, etc.

In the period of 2016-2020, HCMC and Binh Phuoc continue strengthening cooperation and implementation of key tasks, especially traffic infrastructure. In addition, both sides will propose the Prime Minister and relevant departments and agencies to carry out some important traffic projects such as Di An-Hoa Lu railway, HCMC-Chon Thanh-Loc Ninh expressway (BOT)

Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong emphasized that the development of HCMC and Binh Phuoc in the overall development of the region including planning related issues, traffic connectivity, environment protection, water treatment, etc. These aim to ensure sustainable development. Therefore, both localities need to improve cooperation efficiency especially to pursue a positive spirit of deeper cooperation.
