At the ceremony, HCMC’s women reviewed memorable milestones of women’s movements around the world as well as the historical victory of Hai Ba Trung’s Uprising. In the past years, Vietnam Women’s Union of HCMC has effectively carried out many emulation programs which attracted positive participation from women. Many patriotic emulation programs have been launched including: Women of Talent, Women in good economic performance, new women entrepreneurs, good at country’s affairs as well as homework, etc. These programs have made a positive change at all levels of women

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Van Khoa said March 8 annually is an occasion for the whole society to honor the dedication and silent sacrifice of Vietnamese women through ages of national construction, protection and development. In the past years, Vietnam Women’s Union of HCMC at all levels have made big contributions to the implementation of socio-economic, cultural development, ensuring national defense, security and stabilizing people’s lives.

Upholding achieved results, in the coming time, Vietnam Women’s Union of HCMC together with the city will continue to effectively carry out programs and missions in 2016, especially the mission of participation in the National Congress Election and People’s Council at all levels, programs of the Party Congress, carrying out 7 breakthrough programs of the Resolution of the 10th Party Congress of HCMC, making HCMC a civilized, modern and sentimental city with better living quality

In addition, Vietnam Women’s Union of HCMC at all levels will continue to promote propaganda activities, renewing content and operation modes of the Union to attract more members. It is essential to create favorable conditions for women to promote their roles in families and society towards the target of equality and advancement of women.

On this occasion, Vietnam Women’s Union of HCMC has commented 30 groups, 175 good staffs of the Union in the tenure of 2011-2016.
