HCM City's monorail line No 3 running from the Phan Van Tri - Nguyen Oanh crossroad (in Go Vap district) through Quang Trung Software Park to Tan Chanh Hiep in District 12 will cost VND8,400 trillion (US$376 mil).
The 16.5km monorail line and routing depot project covering an area of over 3 ha in Tan Chanh Hiep Ward in District 12 is expected to be kicked off in 2019 and put into operation 5 years later.
The People’s Committee of HCMC will open international tender to choose investor for the project.
The municipal authorities have asked the Ministry of Planning and Investment to put the monorail line No 3 project in the list of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects.
According to the adjusted master plan for transportation in the period through 2020 approved by the Government, HCM City will have eight metro lines, six bus rapid transit routes and three tramway or monorail lines.
