HCM City People's Committee Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hong on June 11 attended the celebration of the 89th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II, which was held by the UK Consulate General in HCM City.
On the occasion the vice chairwoman sent her best wishes to the British Royal Family and the community of the British citizens living and working in HCM City.
She was glad at the increasing Việt Nam-UK strategic partnership development via the working visits by leaders of both sides, which confirmed their determination to make the bilateral relationship more effective.
She also highly appreciated the assistance of the UK in the fields including finance, hunger abolishment and poverty reducement, corruption fighting and scientific research among others.
She was confident that the relationship between Vietnam and the UK in general and that of the two countries's localities would increasingly develop to bring in fruitful achievements.
UK Ambassador to Vietnam Giles Lever expressed his joy at the growing bilateral all-round relationship. Investment and export from the UK to Vietnam has grown significantly to make it one of the largest market in Southeast Asia.
