Chairman of HCM City People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan received Park Noh Wan, the new Consul General of Korea Republic in the city on May 18.
During the reception, Quan expressed his pleasure about the good relationship between Vietnam and South Korea, especially that of Korea with his city, which have been growing well.
He said Korean businesses were welcome to invest and operate in HCM City and its authorities were willing to talk and help address their problems in doing their business.
The consul general said Vietnam and his country were strategic partners and their cooperation is increasingly developing. Korean companies are boosting their investment in the south, including HCM City. He cited big names such as Samsung, Kumho and Lotte groups.
He also promised promote co-operation and cultural exchange and expressed his hope that the city’s authorities would continue to support Korean enterprises who desired to do business in the city.
Currently around 50,000 Koreans are living in the south and 100,000 Vietnamese women who got married in Korea. They are expected to be an important bridge for further development of the bilateral relations.
