HCM City announces results of confidence vote

The People’s Council of Ho Chi Minh City announced the results of vote of confidence for officials holding 18 positions elected by the council, at the end of the council’s 16th session on December 10.

Ninety out of the total 94 members of the council were present to cast their votes.

Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam, Chairwoman of the municipal council received the highest number of “high confidence” votes (73), followed by Truong Thi Anh, Vice Chairwoman of the council, and Nguyen Thi Hong, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee, both with 70 votes.

Meanwhile, Thai Van Re, Director of the municipal Department of Planning and Investment, received the lowest number of “high confidence vote” (33 votes) and highest “low confidence vote” (14 votes). Huynh Cong Hung, head of the council’s Department of Culture and Society got the lowest number of “low confidence vote” with only one of this kind of vote.

This was the second time the People’s Council of Ho Chi Minh City conducted vote of confidence. The results were announced on the same day as follows:

1. Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam, Chairwoman of the People’s Council: 73 high confidence votes (77.66 percent of the council’s total members); 11 confidence votes (11.70 percent); 6 low confidence votes (6.38 percent).

2. Truong Thi Anh, Vice Chairwoman of the People’s Council: 70 high confidence votes (74.47 percent); 17 confidence votes (18.09 percent); 3 low confidence votes (3.19 percent).

3. Pham Van Dong, head of the Economic and Budget Department of the People’s Council: 40 high confidence votes (42.55 percent); 41 confidence votes (43.62 percent); 7 low confidence votes (7.45 percent).

4. Huynh Cong Hung, head of the Socio-Cultural Department of the People’s Council: 60 high confidence votes (63.83 percent); 28 confidence votes (29.79 percent); 1 low confidence votes (1.06 percent).

5. Pham Van Ba, head of the Law Department of the People’s Council: 50 high confidence votes (53.19 percent); 31 confidence votes (32.98 percent); 8 low confidence votes (8.51 percent).

6. Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the People’s Committee: 68 high confidence votes (72.34 percent); 19 confidence votes (20.21 percent); 3 low confidence votes (3.19 percent).

7. Hua Ngoc Thuan, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee: 60 high confidence votes (63.83 percent); 22 confidence votes (23.40 percent); 7 low confidence votes (7.45 percent).

8. Nguyen Thi Hong, Vice Chairwoman of the People’s Committee: 70 high confidence votes (74.47 percent); 15 confidence votes (15.96 percent); 3 low confidence votes (3.19 percent).

9. Nguyen Huu Tin, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee: 65 high confidence votes (69.15 percent); 21 confidence votes (22.34 percent); 4 low confidence votes (4.26 percent).

10. Le Manh Ha, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee: 54 high confidence votes (57.45 percent); 27 confidence votes (28.72 percent); 8 low confidence votes (8.51 percent).

11. Le Thanh Liem, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee: 48 high confidence votes (51.06 percent); 37 confidence votes (39.36 percent); 5 low confidence votes (5.32 percent).

12. Tat Thanh Cang, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee: 50 high confidence votes (53.19 percent); 33 confidence votes (35.11 percent); 7 low confidence votes (7.45 percent).

13. Vo Van Luan, chief of the People’s Committee Office: 36 high confidence votes (38.30 percent); 41 confidence votes (43.62 percent); 11 low confidence votes (11.70 percent).

14. Dao Thi Huong Lan, Director of the Department of Finances: 50 high confidence votes (53.19 percent); 34 confidence votes (36.17 percent); 6 low confidence votes (6.38 percent).

15. Truong Van Lam, Director of the Department of Internal Affairs: 40 high confidence votes (42.55 percent); 44 confidence votes (46.81 percent); 5 low confidence votes (5.32 percent).

16. Thai Van Re, Director of Planning and Investment Department: 33 high confidence votes (35.11 percent); 42 confidence votes (44.68 percent); 14 low confidence votes (11.89 percent).

17. Nguyen Chi Thanh, Director of Public Security Department: 49 high confidence votes (52.13 percent); 34 confidence votes (36.17 percent); 6 low confidence votes (6.38 percent).

18. Truong Van Hai, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City High Command: 46 high confidence votes (48.94 percent); 38 confidence votes (40.43 percent); 5 low confidence votes (5.32 percent).
