Gift-giving on Tet holidays by HCMC’s leaders

On February 12, leaders of HCMC led by Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Hua Ngoc Thuan together with leaders of Department of Health, Department of Labor, Department of Labor-Invalids-Social Affairs and HCMC Social Evils Prevention Agency paid a visit and wished a Happy New Year at HCMC Tumor hospital and Social Support Center.


At the HCMC Tumor Hospital, Mr. Hua Ngoc Thuan highly recognized efforts and encouraged teams of doctors and nurses to continue promoting achieved results, making more positive contributions to the health sector of HCMC. At the same time, H noted that the hospital needs to continue training and enhancing professional skills for teams of doctors and nurses, accessing modern technology to improve the process of taking care of people’s health.

Paying a visit to the elderly

In the afternoon of the same day, a delegation of HCMC led by Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Tat Thanh Cang paid a visit and wished a Happy New Year to poor households and the elderly in District 2. The delegation also paid a visit, gave gifts and wished a Happy New Year to households: Mrs. Pham Thi Hai, Mr. Le Van To in Cat Lai ward, Mr. Le Van Thach, Mr. Luong  Van Tai, Mrs. Truong Thi Lieng in Binh Trung Tay ward. The delegation also visited and wished a Happy New Year to Mrs. Le Thi Sang, aged 100.

Mr. Tat Thanh Cang hoped that these small gifts will add more happiness to people on Tet holidays. At the moment, apart from program of reducing poor households, increasing well-off households, HCMC pays regular visits, give gifts and supports shorthanded elderly with difficult situations.

Paying visits and send Tet wishes to units in HCMC

On February 12, a working group of HCMC People’s Committee led by Nguyen Huu Tin paid a visit and wished Happy New Year to  Thanh Loc Sponsoring Center for paralyzed people, District 12, Hospital for Traumatology and Orthopaedic, HCMC Road Traffic Police.

At Thanh Loc Sponsoring Center for paralyzed people, Mrs. Ho Thi Hong, Director of the center announced its main missions of the center: raising 350 people, of whom 64 are cerebral –palsied, the rest are shorthanded, homeless elderly wandering HCMC and neighboring provinces. In order to help these unfortunate plights on Tet holidays, apart from support of HCMC, the center mobilizes more money from sponsors and donors to increase quality of meals, organizing New Year’s Eve party, competitions, building spring flower gardens for them to enjoy Tet holidays.

At the Hospital of Traumotology and Orthopaedic and HCMC Road Traffic Police, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tin shared difficulties with doctors, nurses and traffic polices who are always in big load of work. More than ever, it is time some sectors of specific characteristics such as hospitals and traffic offices to plays its vital roles in taking care of health, ensuring order and security, supporting people to enjoy a happy and safe Tet holidays.
