On behalf of people and authority of HCMC, Mrs. Hong congratulated German Consul General, staff of the German Consulate General and the entire people of Germany who are living and working in HCMC.

Mrs. Hong said in the context of well established and developed relation between Vietnam and Germany, HCMC – a special and largest city of Vietnam – is proud of contributing to the common development of Vietnam-Germany bilateral relation. In 2014, Germany remained the largest trade partner of HCMC in European Union with two way trade of nearly US$ 1, 5 billion, up 13% compared to 2013. In investment, Germany is now ranked 17th out of 73 countries and territories investing in HCMC.

Friendship and co-operation between HCMC and Germany is not only presented in numbers but also through bilateral visits. In September 2015, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan paid a visit to Germany promoting images and Vietnamese culture to German people.

Many important co-operation projects have been carrying out in HCMC including Metro 2 line, Vietnam-Germany University, German International School, Deutsches Haus HCMC, etc. These projects are lively proof for a good co-operation relation between both countries in which HCMC plays an important role in bilateral relation.

Mrs. Hong expressed her belief that multi-faced co-operation relation between HCMC and Germany will continue to witness new phases of development in the future, contributing to the reinforcement of strategic partnership between Vietnam and Germany for mutual benefits of people of both countries, for peace, prosperity and development.

German Consul General Hans Dieter Stell highly appreciated good co-operation relation between Germany and Vietnam. On this basis, Mr. Hans Dieter Stell believed that the multi-faced co-operation relation between Vietnam and Germany in general, between HCMC and Germany in particular will more and more develop.
