On April 14, Vice Chairwoman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hong received Mr. Matthias FEKL, Minister of State for foreign trade, promotion tourism and French nationals abroad together with diplomatic missions and French international development on a working trip to understand co-operation situation between France and HCMC.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyen Thi Hong welcomed the working visit of the French delegation and announced situation of trade and investment co-operation between HCMC and France. Till January 2015, France was ranked 9th out of 72 countries and territories investing in HCMC. In 2014, two way export-import revenue increased by 6% compared to 2013, HCMC received 100,000 French visitors. Both sides have carried out effective activities in fields of health and education.
Mrs. Hong added HCMC is encouraging investment in fields of infrastructure, economy, health, education, agriculture, agricultural product processing, etc. Mrs. Hong hoped that this visit will further promote co-operation between HCMC and France in the coming time.
Mr. Matthias FEKL thanked leaders of HCMC for warm welcome and said that the visit is accompanied by 5 enterprises to seek co-operation opportunities of transport infrastructure, environment, etc.
Mr. Matthias FEKL expressed his impression at the dynamic development of HCMC and said that France hopes to contribute more to projects of HCMC. Many young French enterprises are showing their interest in investing in HCMC. He hoped HCMC and France will further promote bilateral relationship, penetrating markets and finance. Mr. Matthias hoped leaders of HCMC to create favorable conditions for French enterprises to invest in HCMC.
