July 4, Business France coordinated with French Consulate General in HCMC to organize the “France-Vietnam Cooperation Forum on smart and sustainable city.
The event is an opportunity for enterprises, organizations of Vietnam and France to discuss, seek partners and expand market as well as strengthen investment and cooperation opportunities.
Speaking at the forum, Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen said 2018 marks the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomatic relations and 5 years of strategic partnership. Many activities will be organized in both Vietnam and France in fields of politics, culture, economy. The forum is a clear proof for the good Vietnam-France bilateral relations.
In his brief introduction of HCMC, Mr. Tuyen said the city is now an economic locomotive, scientific-technical, cultural, educational centre of the whole country. With advantages of human resource, digital technology, number of enterprises, labour productivity, etc. HCMC aims to become a big economic, financial, commercial, scientific and technological centre of Vietnam and Southeast Asia region. One of the measures to achieve the above target is to carry out the project of smart city in 2017-2025 and a vision to 2030.
According to Mr. Tuyen, the smart city project aims to serve 03 main objects including the city’s authorities through building e-government, sharing data; local citizen through strengthening interaction between local authorities and citizens; enterprises through redesigning favourable and transparent business environment.
