As per the plan to organize flower Streets 2015 in Ho Chi Minh City signed by Hua Ngoc Thuan, deputy chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, flower markets will be held from February 11 to 18.
This year, there will be three large flower markets in 23 September Park, Le Van Tam Park and Gia Dinh Park. In addition to three above-mentioned destinations, flower markets will be held in 125 other places in 20 districts in the city to favor for flower lovers and reduce traffic jam.
Accordingly, Thu Duc District with 19 flower markets and district 10 with 16 flower markets. As districts 7 and 8 have rivers, flower markets will be held in river; accordingly, there will be markets to sell ornamental flowers to meet demand of city residents on the Lunar New Year (Tet holidays).
Traders have registered to participate in flower markets. 23 September Park has the most registered flower stands with 977 stands and Le Van Tam Park has the least with around 200 flower stands. Gia Dinh Park will have 714 flower stands, an increase of 274 flower stands compared to the plan.
Flower markets are held annually nationwide as a tradition of the country.
