FDI into HCM City increases strongly

From early 2014 to May 20, HCM City attracted 120 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with total registered capital of US$724.2 million, a rise of 356.4 percent in investment capital from the same period last year, according to a report of the HCM City People’s Committee.
During the January-May period, the city also attracted additional capital of US$68.8 million from 40 operational projects.
Generally, the total investment of newly registered and additional capital in the first five months of this year is valued at US$793 million, a year-on-year increase of 119%.
