Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Phong affirmed that 2017 is a significant year of the city. In the process of moving toward the 4.0 industrial revolution, the city has announced the project of building the city into a smart cty in 2017-2020 and a vision to 2025. The project presents the city’s determination to turn the city into a smart city with fast-sustainable economic development and people centered approach.

The 04 pillars of the project include:  center used for simulation to forecast socio-economic strategty, center of information security, center shared database and open database eco-system and joint-operating center.

In parallel, the city will construct a creative urban area connecting District 2, 9 and Thu Duc District. Such as creative urban area plays a nuclear role of the city in the 4th industrial revolution and the whole Southern key economic zone, promoting economic growth based on knowledge eonomy as a key one.

The Reolution 54 allows the city to pilot special mechanisms and policies in 5 key areas: land, investment, finance and state budget management and new authorization mechanisms among different tiers of government and the pay levels of civil servants in the city. The resolution expects to remove bottlenecks related to management and to create favorable conditions for the city to make certain decisions to foster increased growth of the city.

Mr. Phong expressed his belief that the meeting provides foreign missions and delegations information related to overview of the implementation of Resolution 54 and the most updated information on constructing smart city. Through the meeting, Consul Generals in HCMC will promote cooperation with the city in fields of high possibility.

At the meeting, delegates have exchanged information related to the roadmap of Resolution 54, capital, procurement plan to build smart city, promoting human resource training cooperation, sharing experience and technology in building smart city, etc.
