On March 8, the meeting between HCMC’s leaders and enterprises entitled: “listening and innovation” was co-hosted by HCMC Party’s Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee. Secretary of HCMC People’s Committee Dinh La Thang and Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong attended the meeting.
In an open-minded spirit, Mr. Dinh La Thang stressed HCMC’s authority always attaches much importance to enterprises, stays side by side and creates the best possible conditions for enterprises. At the meeting, leaders of HCMC, departments, agencies carefully and thoroughly listened and respected viewpoints of enterprises, especially their opinions and solutions for development of HCMC
Mr. Dinh La Thang noted that to become a more civilized, modern and sentimental city with better living quality, a big economic-financial-commercial-scientific-technology center of Southeast Asia, enterprises should be considered as objects to be served unconditionally to build up a strong business team with good corporate social responsibility and strong competitiveness to compete in the global economy.
In order to achieve this, Mr. Thang said a big number of small and medium-sized enterprises without any linkage will result in failure. He mentioned that this linkage must spread nationwide. According to Mr. Thang, if local enterprises cannot keep the retail market in their hands, foreign enterprises will control it, it is very very hard for product consumption. He said enterprises should put their trust in development and leadership of HCMC. The city is ready for listening, discussing and removing difficulties for enterprises because enterprises themselves drive the development of HCMC. HCMC has now lots of big and good enterprises; they should accelerate restructuring, production expansion, technology innovation to enhance their production capacity, to build up strong national and international brands.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Mr. Thang and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong sent their best wishes to Vietnamese women and hoping that women will continue to contribute more the social development.
