At the meeting, Mr. Rashid Abdulla said the purpose of the visit aims to study infrastructure development plan of HCMC to continue investing Saigon Premier Container Terminal (SPCT) in Hiep Phuoc port. He suggested that authority of HCMC improves transport infrastructure, dredge Soai Rap River at SPCT due to increasing demands of goods exchanging. By doing this, DP World will call other shipping lines to come in and out HCMC ports.

Mr. Tat Thanh Cang said generations of leaders of HCMC always pay attention to development of seaports, seaport economic development attached with Southeastern economic development. At first, HCMC will improve industrial urban area at Hiep Phuoc port and South-North transport axis to create favorable conditions for goods transportation through Southeastern and Southwestern areas. At the same time, the city will create favorable conditions for DP World to expand its investment. It is a firm determination of HCMC to maintain and develop Soai Rap channel to receive large vessels. Mr. Cang expressed his hope that DP World will have many new customers to promote co-operation between DP World and HCMC in field of seaport development.

Also at the meeting, Mr. Cang introduced some other infrastructure development plans including improvement of road system, connection system of outer belt roads, construction of radial roads (above the ground) and urban railway routes.
