Addressing at the meeting, Mr. Hoang Trung Hai highly appreciated achieved results of Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien Metro line, saying that the project has been shaped as one of the first metro line of the country with modern and strategic transport solutions for big cities like Hanoi and HCMC.

Mr. Hai suggested HCMC continues to provide guidance to Management Board and contractors to speed up progress of the project as planned, effectively solving the urban traffic issues in the future, ensuring safety in the process of construction, reducing impacts of traveling demands on local people.

Mr. Hai said that the Prime Minister has approved the establishment of Metro Line No 1 one member Company Ltd to operate Ben Thanh –Suoi Tien Metro line No 1. He requested HCMC to prepare inner city urban railway management system such as mechanisms, training activities of operation and maintenance personnel, ensuring safety and technology standard, etc.

Regarding to difficulties of Metro line 1, Mr. Hai instructed Ministry of Finance to consider easing capital disbursement. He also requested Ministry of Construction to issue code of standards on design, technology to make it suitable for various metro lines in HCMC.

For other metro lines, Mr. Hai also gave his opinions on procedures of submitting to competent authorities through policies of project adjustment, investment, training, operating and repairing, etc.
