At the meeting, Ms. Claudia Kaiser introduced Frankfurt Book Fair – the largest book fair in the world. The annual fair will be held in the middle of October in Frankfurt, Germany and attracted thousands of publishers from 110 countries.

Ms. Claudia said Vietnam has many potential in the publishing sector but still not deeply involving in international environment, she suggested Vietnam should participated into Frankfurt Book Fair as an honored guest to promote book, culture, people and the country to international friends and to push up book trading.

Mr. Le Thai Hy said Vietnam is pushing its socio-economic, scientific, technology development and publishing sector. HCMC is the largest book market of Vietnam with many events like book festival (organized twice a year), book street on Tet holiday, book day, etc.  He added that HCMC Department of Information and Communication is asking for permission to establish a Book Street in HCMC and hope that Ms. Claudia Kaiser to share her experience, support in development of book publishing and promotion of reading culture in HCMC.

Mr. Le Thai Hy revealed that he is very impressed by introduction of Ms. Claudia Kaiser on Frankfurt Book Fair and suggested Ms. Claudia Kaiser to provide specific, detailed information and process of becoming honored guest for consideration.
