On February 10, Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen together with leaders of related departments and agencies conducted an inspection on implementation of tasks of Department of Finance in 2017.
Director of HCMC Department of Finance Phan Thi Thang affirmed that the financial sector has been actively reviewing and arranging its tasks in a prioritized order, practicing thrift on regular spending, maximum reducing and making publicly its spending on conferences, seminars, festivals, groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies, restricting spending on research, overseas survey, limiting purchasing public cars or expensive equipment, cutting regular expenditures included in the expected budget but not allocated till June 30 2017.
Mr. Tran Vinh Tuyen highly appreciated the implementation plan of HCMC Department of Finance in 2017. He emphasized that in the context of assigned budget revenue by the Government (VND 347, 882 billion) in 2017, up 15, 79% compared to 2016 with the rate of budget allocation for locality decreasing from 23% to 18%, this is very tough for HCMC’s financial sector. Therefore, HCMC Department of Finance needs to do research and propose suitable mechanisms to mobilize social resources for development and investment, especially capital for implementing projects under 07 breakthrough programs of the city and ensuring political tasks in budget collection.
