According to a report of District 2, work program of District 2 in 2017 focuses on 25 major targets (3 targets on economic-financial-budget management; 6 targets on urban-environment management, 10 targets on social-cultural management, 4 on national defense-security), 5 key projects, 32 basic construction projects and implementation of the city’s 07 breakthrough programs.
 
Accordingly, District 2 will continue implementing its tasks and solutions to support trade-service development; ensuring targets of trade-service revenue in 2017 with an increase of 20% up; industrial – small industrial & handicraft values increasing by 7% at least compared to the same period; organizing propaganda activities and mobilizing household businesses to turn into enterprises or bigger firms; timely removing difficulties for household businesses to turn into enterprises; striving to achieve the highest budget revenue; mobilizing every resource for investment and development, etc.
 
Speaking at the working session, Deputy Chairman Tran Vinh Tuyen agreed with District 2’s planned targets and solutions in 2017, saying District 2’s leaders coordinate with related departments and agencies to do research on pilot implementation of digitalization of resident management under Geographic Information System (GIS). If succeeded, HCMC People’s Committee will consider expanding this model in the city because is it a part of the plan of building HCMC a smart city.
