At the reception, Mr. Kim Seung Su said Daegu has strengths in thread indusry with a population of 2.5 million, 7,000 thousand Vietnamese people are now living and working in Daegu City and 250 businesses of Dageu are doing business in Vietnam.

Daegu City is now developing key industries like auto manufacturing, spare-parts for industrial machinery engines. In addition, Daegu city is well-know by developed oil and mineral industries. He expressed his hope that both cities’ enterprises will ink long-term cooperation relaitons.

For his part, Mr. Liem said HCMC always looks forward to bringing Vietnam-Korea relations to a more comprehensive and effective level, saying he city always attaches importance of strengthening cooperation relations with localities of Korea, including Daegu, one of 7 localities of Korea establishing friendship relations with HCMC.

In the last 3 year, both localities have regularly exchanged many high-profile visits and positively organized many exchange and cooperation activitiesl ike Daegu Festival Day, business fora, etc.

Mr. Liem emphasized that the city is carrrying out 4 key industries and 7 breakthrough programs, including traffic congestion reduction. The city is calling for investment in infrastructure projects like Metro line, monorail, anti-flooding, environmental pollution, urban rennovation and development, etc. He expressed his hope that Mr. Kim Seung Su will help encourage businesses of Daegy City to invest in these fields.

Mr. Liem highly appreciated performance of representaive office of Daegu city in HCMC, saying the rep.office has done a good job. He expressed his belief that this office will be an important linking bridge for people and businesses of Vietnam and Korea in general and between HCMC and Daegu city in particular.
