Denmark hopes to expand cooperation with HCMC

On October 12, Permanent Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem received Mr. Kristian Jensen, Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs.

At the reception, Mr. Le Thanh Liem highly valued the well-developed cooperation relation between Vietnam and Denmark, including cooperation in climate change adaptation.

He stressed HCMC is paying a special attention to sustainable development and improvement of quality of living standard for local people. Therefore, the city is looking forward to cooperation in fields of Denmark’s strength including green technology and climate change.


Regarding the Danish House project, Mr. Liem affirmed that HCMC welcomes the project and commits to support construction of Danish House in the city to further promote both sides’ cooperation relation.

For his part, Mr. Kristian highly valued socio-economic development of HCMC, saying HCMC is an ideal destination for foreign investors including those from Denmark.

Mr. Kristian Jensen said there are about 130 Danish investors doing business in Vietnam, 80 of them are investing in HCMC. Denmark is looking forward to strengthening cooperation with HCMC, especially construction of Danish House in the city. The Danish House will be a linking bridge for cultural exchange and promotion of economic cooperation between Denmark and HCMC in the coming time.
