Creating favorable conditions for investors in Saigon hi-tech Park

(HCM CityWeb)- On August 29, a central surveillance program steering Committee led by Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan had a meeting at Saigon hi-tech park on implementation the central Resolution No 6 on science and technology development and laws on science and technology.

 

 

 

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan highly appreciated operation results of Saigon hi-tech park. He also commented on common policies of the Central committee on science and technology, saying that these policies have been concretized by specific rules. He also acknowledged opinions of businesses and management board of Saigon hi-tech park, saying that these opinions will be submitted to the Central Government for renewal and amendment, supplementing policies and regulations to make it appropriate to practical situations.

 

 

In addition, Mr. Nhan requested HCMC to create favorable conditions for enterprises in fields of science and technology. He asked Saigon hi-tech park to strengthen interactive activities, co-operating with schools, institutes to do scientific –technological research activities.

 

 

Dr. Le Hoai Quan, Head of Management Board of Saigon hi-tech park said Saigon hi-tech park has strengthened many international and domestic co-operation activities in research, development and incubation. The effective operation of Saigon hi-tech park has made significant contributions to the program of supporting economic structure transfer, changing the growth model of HCMC in the direction of increasing proportion of hi-tech industry or hi-tech services.

 


In the future, Saigon hi-tech park will become a Center for Science and technology Research and Development of the area, a driving force for scientific and technological development of the city. According to Management Board of Saigon hi-tech park, despite of advantages from the State’s policies, scientific and technology companies still face many difficulties. The Management Board suggested that the State need to work out policies and mechanism to promote talents, to attract hi-tech experts, improve procedures of assigning scientific and technology tasks or trial production projects in order to create favorable conditions for enterprises, increasing budget for scientific and technological infrastructure.

 


Saigon hi-tech Park - a multidisciplinary economic-technical park - was established in 2002, specializing in research, development and application of hi-tech, incubation of hi-tech enterprises, training human resource, trading hi-tech products, enhancing hi-tech industry in HCMC and Southern key economic zones. Till now, Saigon Hi-tech Park has attracted over US$ 4, 3 billion with 80 projects.

 


In the framework of the working visit at Saigon Hi-tech Park, The central surveillance program steering Committee paid a visit to 2 enterprises (Nanogen and United Health Care).
