On July 14, Hoa Lam Investment Development Joint Stock Corporation organized a groundbreaking ceremony of Hoa Lam International Hospital project – the 2nd hospital in hi-tech Healthcare Park at Binh Tri Dong B Ward, Binh Tan District, HCMC, the first is City International Hospital. Attending the ceremony included former Minister of Health Tran Thi Trung Chien, Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Hua Ngoc Thuan.
The Hoa Lam International Hospital has al area of 1,5 hectares, total floor space of 35,000sqm with 4 specialties including cardiovascular, trauma and orthopedics, neurology and endocrinology. The 351 bed hospital is expected to be completed in end of 2014 with total capital of VND 1,300 billion.
Mrs. Tran Thi Lam, Chairperson of Board of Members of Hoa Lam-Shangri-La Company ltd and Chairwoman of Hoa Lam International Hospital said with a determination to build a international standard hospital, Ho Lam-Shangri-la has co-operated with many internationally famous companies in design and management consultancy such as Kume Sekkei with 400 years of experience in Japan, Global Health Service Network from USA that provide construction managements consultancy services for hospitals in over 60 countries.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hua Ngoc Thuan said HCMC has been continuously investing in community health care and calling investment from society to improve health quality for local people. Ho Lam company is one of the leading units that responds to the appeal of health care socialization. HCMC has approved policies for 115 Hospital, the first public hospital of HCMC that enters into specialized co-operation with Hoa Lam International Hospital to train a professionally medical team. In addition, HCMC has also approved guidance for Hoa Lam company to build an international medical university in hi-tech Healthcare Park. This is a favorable condition for HCMC to develop hi-tech healthcare at regional level.
Mr. Hua Ngoc Thuan requested Departments-agencies, localities to support removing difficulties or submitting proposals that go beyond their competence to HCMC People’s Committee to help investors fulfill their projects timely and ensure quality. He also requested investors to proceed construction of the rest 4 hospitals and other items in hi-tech healthcare park to increase a number of hospital beds and to reduce overload for public hospitals in HCMC.
Hi-tech Healthcare Park, 10km away from the center of HCMC, has an area of 37,5hectares, invested and developed by Hoa Lam Shangri-La Company Ltd. The project was licensed by HCMC People’s Committee in July 2008 and expected to be completed in 10 years. The project has a total investment capital of US$ 1 billion, including 6 general and specialized hospitals with 1,750 hospital beds and other items such as laboratory, healthcare exhibition center & shopping center, service apartments, etc, together with specialized helicopter airport. Once completed, the project offers jobs for 10,000 laborers and is considered as the first-class “healthcare city” of HCMC and the whole country.
