The Prime Minister requested HCMC People’s Committee to report to HCMC People’s Council to ensure sufficient funds allocated for the project and to decide relevant issues to ensure investment efficiency.

According to HCMC Department of Transport, Rach Chiec bridge will be built with concrete structure and modern steel arch with 2 main arch spans and completed end of December, 2015.

In Phase 1, a separate branch of bridge will be built with 4 lanes (equivalent to ½ of complete bridge in the direction from Phu My bridge to Hanoi Highway), constructing an intersection hub between Rach Chiec bridge on the Eastern Ring Road and D2 Street under hi-tech Park and section connecting Rach Chiec bridge to Hanoi Highway.

Construction of Rach Chiec bridge on the Easter Ring Road will close the Ring Road 2 under “planning on transport development of HCMC till 2020” approved by the Prime Minister, connecting the Eastern Ring Road with hi-tech park and Hanoi Highway to reduce traffic pressure through the heart of HCMC.
