Civil Code draft open for feedback
The draft amendments to the Civil Code will be open for feedback from Vietnamese people from all walks of life, both inside and outside the country, from January 5 until April 5, according to the National Assembly Standing Committee.
Members of the public can submit their opinions via the Ministry of Justice website at http://www.moj.gov.vn as well as in documents or at related conferences and dialogues.
The revision aims to recognise and better protect the rights of individuals and organisations in the civil realm, helping complete socialist-oriented market economy regulations and stabilise the legal framework for the country's socio-economic development.
The current draft comprises 672 articles, shorter than the 2009 Civil Code, which contains 777 articles. Some are the same, while others were adjusted or added.
A report collecting public opinion on the draft revision of the Civil Code will be submitted to the National Assembly at the ninth session of the 13th NA, scheduled to start in May.
