City authorities meet retired senior officials

Le Thanh Hai, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee, and other members of the Party Committee in Ho Chi Minh City met with retired high-ranking people in Ho Chi Minh City to report the socio-economic situation and security order in 2014.
At the meeting, the city's Party Committee Secretary, who is also a Politburo member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee also listened to ideas of these retired senior people on major issues of the city.
On behalf of the city authorities, Le Hoang Quan, chairman of the People’s Committee reported that the city’s economy in nine months was stable and showed the recovery.
28 target goals have been achieved; export increased more than last year; subsidized commodity program proved to be effective; the local industrial production index rose and tourism service turnover surged; Major projects relating to residents’ welfare are being carried out as per scheduled.
Vo Van Thuong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, said that the city authorities focused on selecting young and good people and female members to nominate for high ranking positions.
Mr. Hai listened to retired senior people for the city’s growth, saying that the city would try to hold more meetings with former senior officials for collecting ideas from them on major issues.
