On March 26, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan received an Italian Parliament delegation led by Senator Pier Perdinando Casini – Chairman of the Italian Foreign Policy Commission in a visit to Vietnam.
At the meeting, Mr. Le Hoang Quan expressed his delight to receive Mr. Pier Perdinando Casini and the Italian Parliament delegation. He highly appreciated co-operation relationship between Vietnam and Italia in the last 40 years. Vietnam-Italia relationship has been upgraded to strategic partnership.
Mr. Le Hoang Quan said that Italia has 16 investment projects in HCMC, bilateral trade between Vietnam and Italia in 2014 reached US$ 500 million. HCMC has established a close relationship with over 36 localities of Italia. Mr. Quan hoped that both countries continue to strengthen co-operation relationship in all fields.
In return, Mr. Pier Ferdinando Casini expressed his impression on active development of HCMC. He said Vietnam and Italia have many similarities and may expand co-operation relationship in many fields. He hoped that Italia and Vietnam will strengthen co-operation in education and trade, promote links between localities of both countries.
