On July 24, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan received a delegation of Busan (Korea) led by Mayor Suh Byung Soo on a 5 day visit to HCMC on the occasion of 20th anniversary of friendship co-operation between both cities.
At the meeting, Mr. Le Hoang Quan highly appreciated socio-economic, cultural – educational co-operation between HCMC and Busan, saying that the co-operation has been deeply developed. Mr. Quan hoped Korea will further promote co-operation in fields of supporting industry, hi-tech industries, urban infrastructure, etc. He also expressed his hope that Korea will support Vietnamese enterprises to export their agricultural products to Korea. He believed that the results achieved after 20 years between HCMC and Busan will help to bring the relationship between both sides to a new height.
Mr. Quan noted HCMC authority will create favorable conditions for Korean companies to participate into investment projects in HCMC.
In his part, Mr. Suh Byung Soo said the signing of FTA between Vietnam and Korea opens a strong development stage, he hoped to further co-operate with Vietnam in fields of express railway, finance, etc.
At the meeting, the two leaders witnessed the signing of MOU which said Busan bank supporting to build schools in HCMC.
