On September 29, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong and leaders of related departments and agencies worked with a delegation of World Bank (WB) in Vietnam led by Director of WB IN Vietnam Ousmane Dione.
At the meeting, Mr. Ousmane Dione cooperation programs between HCMC and WB are on the right track. This is an important foundation for both sides to further expand cooperation relation. He expressed his hope that leaders of HCMC give more information about some projects funded by WB.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong congratulated Mr. Ousmane Dione on his new mission in HCMC and said that projects funded by WB have shown significant importance to development of the city, especially in fields of infrastructure, transport, climate change adaptation, etc. contributing to improvement of living quality of local people.
Mr. Phong affirmed that the city has been always using WB’s fund effectively to invest in welfare and social security projects, urban gentrification. The city will make it public procurement and bidding activities as well as capacity enhancement of staff of the projects.
He expressed his hope that WB will further support HCMC to build a master plan of socio-economic development and communication strategy.
