According to the report of Tan Phu District, in the first 8 months of 2016, industrial – construction production values reached VND 24,061 billion, up 13, 8% compared to the same period of last year, total revenues of trade-services reached VND 80,054 billion, up 25, 62% compared to the same period, total export value increased by 15, 9%, total budget revenue reached 79, 59% of the year’s plan.

15,700 enterprises are operating in Tan Phu District with total investment capital of VND 39,221 billion and 12,559 individual business establishments are operating with total registered capital of VND 801 billion.

In term of basic construction, there are about 161 projects worth VND 2,474 billion under construction, there are 1,1911 construction projects in the first 8 months.

In the school year 2015-2016, Tan Phu has 37 schools meeting the standards of education, health system has provided diagnosis and treatment services to 1, 4 million people, solving jobs for 11,324 laborers, 90% of poor households are granted health insurance cards.

At the working session, HCMC People’s Committee was proposed to give support to Tan Phu District in term of apartment building management, land clearance, increasing size of hospitals from 300 beds to 500-700 beds, building 750 class-rooms till 2020, expanding Truong Chinh and Tan Ky Tan Quy Streets.

Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong praised achievements of Tan Phu in the first 8 months of 2016, saying the district needs to deeply analyze its potential and available advantages for development. With a big amount of enterprises, Tan Phu needs to support and remove difficulties for enterprises, creating favorable conditions for individual business establishments to register and obtain their business names. At the same time, Tan Phu needs to focus on solving barriers for local citizens, etc.

In term of development orientation, Mr. Phong agreed with suggestions and proposals of Tan Phu District. He suggested that the district needs to strengthen socialization of health and education services to bring into play resources from local citizens.
