On Nov 13, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong recieved Chilean Ambassador Jaime Chomali on a working visit to HCMC.
At the reception, Mr. Phong congraluated Mr. Jaime Chomali as new appointed Ambassador of Chile in Vietnam, affirming the well-developed Vietnam-Cuba cooperation relations since establishing diplomatic relation in 1971. He said that both countries have become comprehensive cooperation partners since 2007 through mutually high-profile visits of both countries’ leaders.
Chairman Phong stressed that HCMC always pays a special attention to establishment of cooperation relations with localities of Chile, especially in fields of investment and trade. In the past time, HCMC-Chile cooperation relation has earned postive results with two way trade increasing y-o-y. He expressed his belief that Mr. Jaime Chomali will play the role of promoting Vietnam-Chile cooperation relation, including with HCMC in fields of traffic infrastructure management and development, smart city and agriculture.
For his part, Ambassador Jaime Chomali expressed his impression at the dynamic development of HCMC, saying Chile wants to strengthen cooperation relation with HCMC based on the long-established relations between Vietnam and Chile. Mr. Jaime Chomali expressed his belief that Vietnama and Chile relation will further develop in the coming time. The potential for cooperation between both sides’ localities, especially between HCMC and localities of Chile is very big, especically in fields of wood, aquaculture (salmon), agricultural product, climate change, infrastructure, startup, etc.
Mr. Jaime Chomali added that both countries need to proceed exchanges of high-profile visits and to organize investment promotion activities in the future.
