On May 18, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong recieved Mexican Ambassador to Vietnam Sara Valdes Bolano in a courtesy visit to HCMC.
At the reception, Mr. Phong said Vietnam-Mexico relations has been well-developed, saying the both sides’ economic-trade cooperation potential is huge. Mexico is now the third largest trade partner of Vietnam in Latin America. Two way trade between Mexico and HCMC reached US$ 200 million.
In his congratulation message to the Mexico Government’s decision to open honorable consulate general office in HCMC, Mr. Phong said the the decision will create a linking bridge to further pormote cooperation between HCMC and Mexia in fields of culture and trade.
He affirmed that the city is willing to support, cooperate and create the best conditions for Embassy, consulate general and enterprises of Mexico. H suggested that Embassy and Consulate General of Mexico will play the role of linking bridge to open cooperation opportunities in the coming time.
For her part, Mrs. Sara Valdes Bolano expressed her thank for warmly welcome of Mr. Phong, saying that she would like to further promote cooperation relations with Vietnam in general and HCMC in particular, saying Vietnam-Mexico cooperation relations has been strengthened in fields of trade, investment, culture, etc.
