Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong receives representatives of FUV

On March 28, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong received Mr. Thomas Vallely, Director of Vietnam program of University of Havard (USA), Chairman of the Trust for University Innovation in Vietnam (TUIV) on a courtesy visit to HCMC to announce the construction progress of Fulbright University Vietnam (FUV).

Mr. Thomas Vallely expressed his thanks to the city’s leaders for its support to the implementation of FUV project. The project has been on the right track and expected to enroll about 200 university students in 2018, 1, 500 students by 2020 and about 3,000 students in following years.



Mr. Thomas Vallely expressed his hope that the city’s leaders continue to support and create favorable conditions for FUV in the process of construction and operation. Once completed, FUV is expected to make great contributions to the renovation of university education in Vietnam, including HCMC, by doing research on models of training and university administration which are suitable with social demands in the new stage.



Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong expressed his delight at FUV being constructed in HCMC, saying FUV’s training programs will focus on the city’s interest including improving growth quality towards construction of HCMC an economic-trade-financial center of the whole country and the region, especially seeking mechanisms and breakthrough policies for the city to promote fast and sustainable development, solving issues of urban infrastructure to meet development goals of the city in the future.



Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong affirmed the city’s leaders will support and create the most favorable conditions for FUV to ensure the schedule.
