At the reception, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong expressed his delight at witnessing well-developed comprehensive cooperation relation between Vietnam and Thailand, as of Thailand and HCMC in fields of trade, investment tourism, education, etc.

In term of trade, two way trade of Thailand and HCMC in 2015 reached US$ 2,3 billion (up 24% compared to 2014); Thailand has now 150 investment projects in HCMC with total investment capital of US$ 258 million, ranked 15th out of countries and territories investing in HCMC. In 2015, HCMC and Bangkok have signed cooperation deals on many fields of investment, trade, education & training, environment. Mr. Phong hoped that on the basis of good relations, HCMC and Thailand will continue setting out specific solutions to further deepen cooperation relation between both sides.

New Thai Ambassador to Vietnam Manopchai Vongphakdi stressed Thailand is always ready for cooperating with Vietnam in general and with HCMC in particular in fields of Thai strengths. He affirmed that he will try his best, in his tenure, to deepen and widen cooperation relation between Vietnam and Thailand; he expressed his hope that HCMC will create favorable conditions for Thai investors in the city.
