On November 17, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong received a delegation of Portland Business Elite led by Mayor of Beaverton (Oregon, USA) Denny Doyle.
At the reception, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong highly valued the working visit of the delegation; the visit took place in the context of well-developed comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and USA, especially after the mutual high-profile visits of both sides’ leaders.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong emphasized that HCMC always attaches the importance of US-HCMC relations as well as with localities of USA, saying the city always creates favorable conditions, clear investment environment for foreign investors. Mr. Phong added there are many US investors showing their interest in seeking investment opportunities in HCMC. The US is now ranked 12th out of 79 countries and territories investing in HCMC, it is still not matched with both sides’ development potential.
Mr. Phong expressed his hope to receive a new wave of US investment in HCMC, especially in fields of IT, logistics, finance, sustainably urban development, etc.
