At the reception, Chairman Phong highly appreciated Vietnam-Iran well-developed cooperation relation through mutual high-profile visits. He said that Vietnam-Iran two way trade is still not matched with both sides’ potential, saying both sides will increase two way trade value to US$ 2 billion in the coming time as expected.

In his brief introduction of HCMC’s socio-economic development, Mr. Phong said the city gives priority to hi-tech industries, food processing industry, urban infrastructure development, water treatment. He added that through this visit, more and more Iranian businesses will seek investment opportunities and to participate into trade promotion activities in HCMC.

Agreed on huge cooperation potential of both sides, Mr. Gholamhossein Shafeie stressed that Vietnam and Iran can strengthen cooperation in fields of agriculture, mining, petrochemical, etc.

Beside, Mr. Gholamhossein Shafeie said Vietnam is a gateway for Iranian businesses to access to ASEAN market while Iran can help Vietnam access to Middle East. He expressed his belief that both sides can get fruitful cooperation results in the coming time.
