At the reception, Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong gave a brief about socio-economic development of HCMC, affirming HCMC’s economy is stably growing with political stability and favorable investment environment for foreign investors including Japanese ones. The city is focusing on completing 23 industrial parks and export processing zones to attract investment, training human resource to meet demands of foreign investors.

Mr. Phong added the city has been strengthening administrative reform to create favorable conditions for foreign investors, including those from Gunma province, expressing his hope that businesses from Gunma province will invest in fields of supporting industry, hi-tech agriculture, mechanical engineering, chemical, food processing technology, wood processing, tourism, etc.
 
For his part, Mr. Masaaki Osawa said the purpose of the working visit to Vietnam is to strengthen cooperation and seek investment opportunities. He expressed his hope to receive support from HCMC’s authorities for businesses of Gunman province to invest in the city.
