Chairman Le Hoang Quan receives President of Tulcea County Council

On October 30, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan received Mr. Teodorescu Horia, President of Tulcea County Council, Rumania.

At the reception, Mr. Le Hoang Quan expressed his gratitude to the Government and people of Rumania for their assistance in the Vietnam’s struggle for national liberation and development. Mr. Quan introduced the situation of trade co-operation and foreign investment in HCMC as well as it development orientations in the coming time.



Mr. Quan said in the first 9 months of 2015, total export value of HCMC to Rumania reached US$ 13, 27 million; main export products include coffee, pepper, and vegetable. In return, total import value of HCMC from Rumania reached US$ 7, 48 million (mainly pharmaceutical raw material, animal feed and fertilizer).



He said the results of two way trade is still not matched with both sides’ potential, saying that the visit of Mr. Teodorescu Horia will open door for specific co-operation programs between Tulcea and HCMC, making both countries’ cooperation relation deeper and deeper.



In his part, Mr. Teodorescu Horia highly valued socio-economic growth speed of HCMC, saying that Tulcea County is paying a special attention to expansion of co-operation relation with localities of Vietnam, including HCMC, in fields of trade, tourism, investment.



Mr. Teodorescu Horia expressed his hope that after HCMC will introduce the Honorary Consul General of Rumania in HCMC to act as a bridge for strengthening exchanging activities as well as co-operation programs between both countries.



Tulcea County, located in Eastern Rumania, has advantages of tourism development and water source management. In 2015, Tulcea County and Ben Tre province (Vietnam) has established their ties in the framework of ASEM. Both sides will implement projects in the framework of Mekong-Danube of ASEM.
