Ceremony of Year end 2014 summation and Assignment of HCMC Department of Customs in 2015

 On January 1, HCMC Department of Customs organized a ceremony of 2014 year end summation,  implementation of assignments in 2015 and the conference praising advanced typical examples. Attending the ceremony included Deputy Minister of Finance Do Hoang Anh Tuan, Deputy Chairwoman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hong, Deputy Chairwoman of HCMC People’s Council, General Director of The Customs of Vietnam Nguyen Ngoc Tuc

 

 

 In a report, Deputy Director of HCMC Customs Department Le Dinh Loi said that till December 21, 2014, HCMC Customs Department has conducted customs procedures concerning import-export goods with a turnover of US$ 74 billion, up 8, 1% compared to the same period of 2013; of which US$ 35,3 billion comes from export goods, up 7,6% compared to the same period, US$ 38,7 billion comes from import goods, up 8, 5% compared to the same period of 2013. State budget revenue stayed at VND 89.100, 291 billion, equivalent to 119,1% of the national target (VND 74.800 billion) and 104, 33% of expected target (VND 85. 400 billion), up 16,21% compared to 2013.


Addressing at the ceremony, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong said in 2014, budget revenue collection of HCMC Department of Finance was very positive, up 11%, of which, budget revenue of HCMC Customs Department exceeded its target over 19%. Notably, total State budget revenue of the entire Customs sector reached VND 26.000 billion, of which total budget revenue of HCMC Customs Department exceeded its target VND 14.300 billion, accounting for over 50% of the entire customs sector.

 

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuc concluded that budget revenue collection of HCMC Customs Department in 2014 accounts for 35% of that of the customs sector, this proves that HCMC Customs Department is one of the few units which complete 100% of the planed target with near VND 1000 billion.

 

 

 

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuc requested HCMC Customs Department must collect the right and enough money, conducting measures against loss of State budget, finding the right address or place of budget loss to surmount, implementing effective reforms, modernizing customs, educating and regulating customs officers to avoid taking bribery money.  In the coming time, Customs sector will deploy camera surveillance systems to supervise working process of customs officers and release to public about behavior, attitudes of customs officers when performing public services.
