Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem said Vietnam and Indonesia relations have been well developed in many fields, especially when both countries established strategic partnership in June 2013. Both sides’ political relation has been strengthened, economic-trade co-operation has resulted in good achievements. Both countries has strengthened co-operation in fields of energy, aviation, culture, education-training, tourism. The above achievements have deeply developed the strategic partnership between both countries, bringing practical benefits to people of both sides and contributing to the stability and peace of the region

On the basis of good relation, HCMC and Indonesia relation has achieved many encouraged results. Indonesia has now 16 investment projects in HCMC with total registered investment capital of US$ 18, 74 million. In 2014, two way trade between Indonesia and HCMC reached US$ 778 million, over 50,000 Indonesian tourists visited HCMC. Mr. Le Thanh Liem expressed his belief that the co-operation between HCMC and Indonesia will reach a new height.

On his part, Mr. Jean Anes, Indonesian Consul General in HCMC expressed his delight at good relation between Vietnam and Indonesia. It is expected that President of Indonesia will pay a visit to Vietnam in this year to strengthen the commitments of both countries’ government in bilateral co-operation as well as in the ASEAN region.
