Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Thanh Liem on behalf of authority and people of HCMC congratulated Korean Consul General and people of the Republic of Korea who are living and working in HCMC.

Mr. Liem added Vietnam-Korea bilateral relation has been upgraded to strategic co-operation partnership and strongly developed after 20 years of establishment of diplomatic relation, the connection between both countries has been closely tightened than ever before.

HCMC has been very active in implementing many multi-faced co-operation activities with Korea through trade & culture exchanging programs. Till now, Korea is the four largest foreign investor in HCMC with 1,120 projects with total investment capital of US$ 3, 87 billion. In the first 9 months of 2015, two way trade between Korea and HCMC reached US$ 2 billion, 26 thousands of Korean visitors coming to HCMC. With achieved results, Mr. Le Thanh Liem expressed his belief that co-operation between HCMC and localities of Korea in the coming time will grow deeply and comprehensively.

Korean Consul General in HCMC Park Noh Wan stressed that Vietnam-Korea traditional friendship and co-operation relation has been continuously cultivated and engaged in culture, economy, education, health, etc through working trips and high profile visits of leaders of both countries. Mr. Park Noh Wan affirmed that with his role as a linking bridge between HCMC and Korea co-operation, he will do his best to contribute to the good strategic co-operation partnership between Korea and Vietnam.
