On 14/7, the celebration of the 229th Independence Day of France was organized at Office of French Consulate General in HCMC.
In his speech, Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen highly appreciates the well-established friendship and cooperation relations between Vietnam and Japan, saying that the mutual high-profile visit exchanges in recent years are vital proofs for the close cooperation relations between both countries.
The year 2018 marks a milestone for Vietnam and France when both countries celebrate the 45 years of diplomatic relations and 5 years of strategic partnership. France is one of the biggest export market and important trade partners of Vietnam in Europe with two-way trade in 2017 reaching to US$ 4.62 billion.
Mr. Tuyen added the EVFTA expected to be signed soon will be a solid foundation for stronger economic growth and bring many cooperation opportunities for Vietnam and France.
For his part, French Consul General Vincent Floreani said France always attaches importance of building a good relation with Vietnam, both countries have been effectively cooperating in many fields like economy, health, education, etc.
According to Mr. Vincent Floreani, the EVFTA will help boost trade cooperation between Vietnam and France. In his report of Vietnam-France cooperation results, Mr. Vincent Floreani said there are nearly 300 French enterprises investing in Vietnam in fields of pharmaceuticals, agriculture-food, infrastructure, hi-tech and 9,000 French people are living and working in HCMC.
Mr. Vincent Floreani expressed his thanks to the city’s authorities for creating favourable for 3 important projects of France in HCMC including headquarter of CMI- French Health cluster, House of France, expansion of Marguerite Duras International School.
