Mr. Le Thanh Liem sent his best wishes to Consul General of The Netherlands in HCMC Simon van der Burg and to all Dutch people who are living and working in HCMC. He affirmed that Vietnam-Netherlands traditional co-operation and friendship relation has been well developed and upgraded to comprehensive strategic partnerships in many fields: climate change adaptation, water management, agriculture, food safety, education, culture, tourism.

HCMC is the leading locality of the whole country in carrying out co-operation activities with the Netherlands. Two way trade between HCMC and the Netherlands in 2015 reached US$ 1, 6 billion, up 46% with the same period. Till March 2016, the Netherlands has 93 investment projects in HCMC with total investment capital of nearly US$ 717 million, ranked 11 out of foreign countries and territories investing in HCMC. Mr. Liem expressed his hope that the relations between Vietnam and the Netherlands in general, between HCMC and the Netherlands in particular will be more developed in the coming time.

Addressing at the celebrating ceremony, Mr. Simon van der Burg expressed his delight at the good relation between Vietnam and the Netherland after more than 40 years of establishing diplomatic ties. He affirmed that Vietnam-Netherlands relation will be more developed in many fields including trade, agriculture, water management, environment, etc.
