“HCMC always pays special attention to creating a clear investment environment for foreign investors to seek investment opportunities. The effective operation of foreign investors makes a big contribution to the development of the city. Therefore, the city is always considering the success of Japanese investors as its own”.
Affirmed by Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong in a reception with Japanese business delegation led by Governor of Nagano province Shuichi Abe on October 26.
Highly valued the well-developed friendship and cooperation relation between HCMC and Japan, Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong said the both sides’ cooperation relation has been continuously strengthened by mutual high-profile visits, it helps open many comprehensive cooperation programs. Japan is now ranked 6th out of 79 countries and territories investing in HCMC with total investment capital of US$ 3 billion.
“The cooperation between Vietnam and Japan as well as between HCMC and localities of Japan is on the right track. This presents not only the political trust between both countries to “wide and deep strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia” but also the ability for cooperation, mutual supplement in the cooperation relation amongst Vietnam, HCMC and localities of Japan”, Mr. Phong stressed.
Regarding to cooperation potential between HCMC and Nagano, Mr. Phong said Nagano has strengths in manufacturing, support industry, hi-tech agriculture. These are what HCMC is calling for investment in accordance with its development orientation. Mr. Phong expressed his hope that businesses of Nagano will actively seek cooperation opportunities in other fields such as manufacturing engineering, electronics-IT, chemical-rubber-plastic and food processing. He said that through this visit, may specific cooperation programs between HCMC and Nagano will be established.
For his part, Mr. Shuichi Abe highly valued multi-faceted growth speed of HCMC, saying foreign investors are showing an increasing interest in HCMC. Specifically, 65 enterprises of Nagano province coming to HCMC today are interesting in seeking cooperation and investment opportunities.
In his brief introduction of Nagano province, Mr. Shuichi Abe said Nagano has strengths in agriculture and manufacturing industry including electronic technology and precision engineering. Besides, tourism is a potential sector of Nagano. Mr. Shuichi Abe expressed his hope to sign MOU with HCMC on economic cooperation and exchange programs in the coming time.
According to Shuichi Abe, there are now 41 enterprises of Nagano operating in Vietnam including 12 operating in HCMC, he said after this visit, the number will be expected to increase.
In the framework of the the reception, enterprises of Nagano have briefly introduced their activities, mentioning about investment environment in HCMC. All of their questions were almost answered by HCMC’s leaders.
