On January 23, Ministry of Construction coordinated with HCMC People’s Committee, provinces and cities to organized a conference on announcing the adjusted construction master plan of HCMC zone by 2030 and vistion to 2050.
The announcement aims to promote economic development of HCMC zone, turn HCMC zone into a big, dynamic, sustainable city with an important role in Southeast Asia region and international arena.
This zone will become a big, modern economic center of Vietnam and Southeast Asia, a center for trade, finance, service, scientific research, hi-tech industry and specialized industries.
Of which, HCMC will be a nuclear urban area, modern multi-purposed economic center as other urban areas in Southeast Asia region.
According to the master plan, HCMC zone includes the entire administrative boundary of the city and 7 neighbouring provinces including Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Long An Dong Nai and Tien Giang with a total area of approximately 30, 404 sqm.
